A 16th-century landmark, reimagined.
From hardware store to holiday retreat - a historic Stamford renovation.
A rare opportunity to combine historic character with modern living — this Stamford renovation shows our approach to restoration at its best: honouring the past while creating spaces built for today.
Pettifers Loft
Stamford, Lincolnshire
This project transformed a former hardware store and gun shop in the heart of Stamford into an exclusive holiday retreat, blending modern luxury with centuries of history.
Following demolition and essential damp-proofing, we repositioned the staircase to create a more open, inviting layout, while carefully restoring original architectural details throughout. New doors, windows, and roof lights were integrated to enhance natural light and energy efficiency, alongside a high-end kitchen and two beautifully designed bedrooms, each with its own luxurious en-suite.
The result is a unique, stylish getaway that balances 21st-century comfort with 16th-century heritage — breathing new life into a historic Stamford landmark.
